Feed the Need

After Hurricane Irma

Tuesday, September 19th, was an awesome night as Feed the Need, One Hope and Safeharbor Christian Church gathered to feed the community. We had an outstanding number of volunteers – around 75! So thank you to all who showed up to serve!
Although only one woman came to Safeharbor to be fed, that does not mean it was an unsuccessful night. That woman’s story was heard, she was fed, and the gospel was shared. After the woman left, volunteers then took the food to 13th Street in Sanford and fed over 50 people.
On top of this, a few days earlier, Safeharbor folks joined a multiple-church call to “Serve Seminole [on] Saturday” to help Seminole County with post-hurricane clean up. In addition to this, one team of five volunteers went to an E.S.T.H.E.R. member’s home (a ministry for single mothers) whom reached out to us for yard clean up. THEN, on Sunday, you all came to church in your yard grubbies and cleaned up OUR yard!
We are encouraged by your willingness to serve in time when you may not even have had all of your need met.

Ephesians 2: 4-7

But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us . . . raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
