SAFEHARBOR
CHURCH

At Safeharbor, Jesus Christ is not just the foundation of our church; He is the center of everything we do. Whether we are singing, praying, or preaching, His name is our authority and our joy. Our collective history, our current life together, and our future hopes are all anchored in Him.
We exist for a single, primary purpose: to make much of Jesus Christ.
"For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together."
— Colossians 1:16-17
Because Jesus is before all things and sustains all things, we look to Him as the source of our unity as a multi-ethnic and multi-generational family. He is the reason we gather, the reason we serve our neighbors, and the reason we have hope for the city of Sanford.
Everything we are, we are through Him. Everything we do, we do for Him.
We believe that worship is not just a Sunday morning activity—it is essential to God’s plan of redemption and a strategic avenue for His presence to enter an alienated world.
We find the pattern for this in the Lord’s Prayer. Jesus taught His disciples to begin by looking upward: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name.” Only then does the prayer move outward: “Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:9-10).
When we pray in this way, we are first reaching into the invisible realm through worship; then, on the grounds of that worship, we welcome the entry of His divine authority, rulership, and power into our lives and our city.
At Safeharbor, we believe that a natural, overflow reflection of our love for God is a life of worship. We are a people who strive to see that worship "invade" every aspect of our lives—transforming our families, our workplaces, our neighborhoods, and our city. As we live in this rhythm, we partner with God to see His Kingdom expanded and His name hallowed in Sanford and beyond.
